About the Curator

Dr Cheah Hwei-Fen is guest curator of the Nyonya Needlework exhibition and the author of the catalogue. She lectures in art history and art theory at Australian National University. Her book Phoenix Rising: Narratives in Nyonya Beadwork from the Straits Settlements was published in 2010.
